If the NE1A is installed and a password set for access then it is not possible to bypass this user defined password if this password is not known. The reason is that once the unit is locked down it is key to the safety of the machine.
The password retrieval tool supplied with the programming software is for a unit that has been password protected and a customer needs access to it. However when you enter the new unlock code it returns the unit to "Out-of-the-box" configuration i.e totally blank, ready to accept a program.
As with all software the user should ensure they have backup copies available for reinstallation in event of problems.
