Can A Capacitive Sensor Detect Charged Objects?

Modified on Sun, 11 May, 2025 at 10:19 PM

Yes, but the sensing distance depends on the charged object and the amount of charge.

If the object is charged, the electrostatic capacitance will also change when the status of the electrical load is changed, and so stable detection cannot be performed.

For stable detection, it is recommended to first ionize the object.
