In theory a seperate network is not required, the DeviceNet safety will coexsist with exsisting Ethernet traffic.
However as traffic increases on the network it will slow down and will probably cause the SNC network to fall over due to EPI faults. So to maintain reliability of the network its advised that a Ethernet network is installed for the SNC traffic only.
